Apple hopes iTunes HD makes you want a Apple TV really bad

Well now I can put to bed an issue that's personally bothered me about iTunes / AppleTV.  It's not HD.  Well ..... it will be soon.  That's right, if HD is coming.  And if you thought it was in high definition, Apple has pulled the wool over your eyes.  Apple was very good at their marketing, they always have been.

I know it's a little snobbish, but I feel that the HD technology has been around long enough to expect some sort of standardization by now.  I know the equipment, isn't necessarily cheap for the everyday consumer.  But come on!  Those that did purchased the gear (pick me, pick me) also wanna utilize it.

At least iTunesHD will do one thing, make me stop picking on Josh Sager about how iTunes is "almost", but not really HD.  Which is a good thing, because I've been told that I have been treating him like a red headed step child, lately.

But now on to the goods.  Crunchgear & MacOs rumors hear that their is going to be a substantial update to iTunes sometime this month that will make the AppleTV have a comeback.  Apple has allegedly placed a very very large order of AppleTVs because of this release.  No names or anything has been announced marketing wise - but expect to see the upcoming “iTunes HD” soon. Whatever it will be called, you’ll soon be able to purchase a selection of HD movies and television shows that’ll work on an AppleTV. I'm exited that I can finally watch 24 in much needed HD since I'll probably be recording Heroes on the Tivo, like last year.

If you don't have an Apple TV, does "iTunes HD" make you want to buy one?

::shrug:: I'm spoiled already with Amazon Unbox + Tivo, but I might be persuaded to switch.

What would get you to buy the Apple TV?

    Apple buys Tivo.

I just learned that in Canada you only get music from iTunes stores. That's Shenanigans.
