Sniffing keyboard cleaner and offering handjobs for blog comments

Well today is a little slow again at work, so I’ve been scouring the web, spraying my gas duster, trying to decipher Josh Sager's notes from Flash Forward, and watching andablogs website analytics. Mostly because, the site has only been available for a week so seeing any new hit is exciting. I’m not expecting much at the moment, but I think I’d go even crazier about someone adding a comment or even registering. Andablog is about creating a community, and any step in that direction puts a smile on my face.

Right now I'm monitoring the site with 2 analytics programs, Google Analytics (free) and Mint ($30/site). I haven’t used them long enough to decide which one is better or more accurate, but I’m sure you’ll be getting an update and time goes on.

Besides that, it’s a waiting game, some of it’s simply because www.andablog.com isn’t fully set up yet. Currently it’s set up to just does a redirect to my sub domain blog. Once our third blog is set, we’ll be adding an aggregate blog of all 3 blogs and place them on the www.andablog.com home page. We decided that it would be better and easier to build up andablog in this fashion. Partly due to the fact that we would have had to wait till next week to launch in full force and hope everything was accurately working. Speaking of our third blog, Cornflake, will be joining us probably by the end of the weekend. I just wanted to let everyone know that we have a few little tricks I have up our sleeve and I can’t give too many of them away because that would ruin part of the fun.

Currently I’m trying to focus on word of mouth, Twitter, Technorati, and Digg (notice the new Digg it buttons?) to bring in a few outside viewers. But I’m thinking that Incarna will get the first consistent member mainly because strippers and Warcraft are generally considered cooler than talking about website analytics. Not that I don’t mind my World of Warcraft, now and then, I actually feel bad I haven’t had a chance to play WoW in quite awhile.  Part of that is Incarna fault since he never tells me when he's on, but every time I just on to see if he's there, de nada.  It's ok since I’m currently busy marketing myself off like a cheap whore.

Handjobs for comments, anyone?
