Starbuck is NOT a Cylon, she's Jesus.

starbuck_jesus.jpg
For me there is one show that stands out as one of the best acted, best scripted, and hands-down best special effects of all shows on television. It’s not on NBC, ABC, CBS, or even Fox. Officially it does fall under NBC, since it airs on the Sci-Fi channel, which has the balls to do a show about superheroes, but seems to treat Battlestar Galactic as their red headed stepchild.

This unfortunate mistake cause many to first think of the show as a “geek” show or a “remake” show, which for those faithful viewers of the show know this is a flat out mistake. This show could complete remove the sci-fi element from the show and it would still be the best show currently on television.

Now that I got that rant off my chest, I thought I’d offer up my thoughts on the upcoming and supposedly final season of Battlestar Galactica. I’m offering my opinions on plot threads that I believe are either destined or I already foreshadowed in the series. So below I offer you some shocking revelations you may not be prepared for.

1. Starbuck is NOT a Cylon, she’s Jesus.

We all know she has a destiny; even the cylon model of Leoben’s been shoving that in her face. Her mother even knew that she was special, and in her own messed up way even raised Starbuck in a fashion to prepare her for what her death? Her character is important to showing the road to Earth. This I believe is foreshadowed when Starbuck gives Adama a figurine of Aurora, Goddess of the Dawn. Adama then uses it as a figurehead to place on the bow of his model ship. She will lead the way. Hell, she is the way, she is the light.

2.  President Roslin will Die.

I offer this as a pretty much absolute. According to the Pythian prophesies the anointed leader had a "wasting illness" (obviously her cancer) and would not live to enter the new land. Some could argue that the prophesies don’t specifically reference her and could mean Baltar, Adama, or Starbuck….but I don’t buy it. Be prepared to see her departure sometime midseason from the show.

3. Model Three will be Unboxed.

Ronald Moore and other sources have indicated that Lucy Lawless will return in season four. This could be through flashbacks, rogue models that weren’t boxed, or even as a figment of someone’s mind like Caprica Six can be for Baltar. I however believe either 1 model is broken out or even her entire model line. I believe that either Baltar or Starbuck have a large role in her uboxing.

4. Cylons will Save Humanity.

The Cylons Centurions are not sentient by design, making them rely solely on programming - thus removing their free will. Sharon Agathon said that this was done to prevent another rebellion similar to the one the original Cylons orchestrated against the 12 Colonies. Battlestar Galactica is ultimately a story about cycles, repeating themes, “this has happened, and will happen again”. It’s main themes are: oppression and forgiveness. Who do you think is going to awaken them and give them freedom? My vote is that Diana Biers sets a lot of this up, maybe with a little help from Jesus.

5. The Final Cylon is Good.

We know that Model Three (Diana Biers) supposedly has seen/met the final five. We also know that she asks for forgiveness to one of the cylons. We don’t have a guarantee that she wasn’t malfunctioning, hallucinating, ect… I do believe she does know, will she tell us who that is, doubtful.

I believe she won’t tell us for one sole reason. By the time her character has been unboxed and cylon vs. cylon war is happening, the final cylon model will have been already killed off in the show, so that in the finale their resurrection has extreme significance. Diana will definitely hold these models in high regard and assist them in any way they would ask of her. I believe it is the destiny of the Final Cylon model will help unite the humans and cylons and allow them to live together in peace.

6. The Final Cylon is …

One might guess Starbuck, since she's apparently risen from her fatal raptor explosion, but that almost seems too easy. Ellen Tigh? Intriguing thought, seeing that in hindsight, a number of sleeper Cylons have been attracted to one another. (Although I guess that logic would apply to Starbuck, too.)

Personally the correct answer is President Roslin, a character I've long suspected might not be human. How else to explain her shared vision with Six and Athena? Her response to cancer treatment using Hera's blood? Think about it, she’s destined to die...people will get sad.  And then when she's revealed, there will be comfort to the fact that she never left us. It also ads a little bit of star-crossed lovers into the storyline. Some will argue that she can’t be a cylon because she has cancer; I think that’s easily explained. She’s not at all the same as the other models. She’s an older model, a much much older model. Maybe she’s a model line of robots that created humanity. There goes that cycle theory that they always throw into the show. “It has happened and will happen again.” Either way, I’m sticking to my guns on this one.

Questions I’d love to know the answer too:

What will earth be like?
To be honest I haven’t decided what would be the best. I know I don’t like how it was done in the original version.

What the f#@$ is the cylon plan?
As of right now, they might want to start working on a plan B.

I’d like to know why in a world where space ships and walking-talking robots are the norm that basic plastic surgery doesn’t exist. I’m thinking the Cylons aren’t as bright as we might like to think;

Roslin: “Ok, here’s photograph’s of all the Cylons we know of.”

Cylons: “Crap! We’re screwed. Everyone we’ve infiltrated into human society has just been discovered!”

Model 3: “I have a suggestion. Why don’t we use our incredible mastery of biotech and surgically alter some of our models physical appearance… or maybe just a nose job so they aren’t easily recognized?”

Cylons: “Quiet you! Get back in your box! We’re dealing with grown up Cylon problems!”

Nice theories, only a) Roslin cannot be the final cylon because RON MOORE said that ROSLIN and ADAMA are NOT cylons, and b) I suspect that Starbuck is a hybrid the cylons don't know about, and thus, she is the 1st... and TIGH is her father, and c) I resent the 'much, much older', comment regarding Roslin because MARY MCDONNELL is hot! And finally, d) TIGH, TYROL, ANDERS and TORY are GOOD, and so the fifth and final cylon is going to be EVIL. Why? you may ask? Well, the prophecy said one cylon God thought he/she was better than the rest and wanted to be the leader, so there is 1 who represents the evil god.

Thanks for the comment Tina.

a). I've seen that before, but it still seems to suspicious to me.

c.) You misunderstood the model comment. I mean I think see is a model of cylon that precedes humanity...not that she's old. I LOVE MARY!@!!!! Her breaking down at the trial is one of my favorite scenes.

d). I'm not sure tigh, tyro, anders, and tory are going to be good. And one of them very easily could think they were better than the other models. That model could be anyone.

Thanks for your thoughts!
