Nicotine induced visions of End of Days

In a recent turn of events, I’ve decided to make some life changes. It may be some sort of mid life crisis thingy but I figured out how I intend to solve some ongoing issues that I feel I need to fix. Some of these are bad habits while others are interests that I want to accomplish. In fact I have a very long list of things I want to work on, but I decided what I knew had to be the first and possibly hardest of all things to change.

I decided to give up smoking, well cigarettes anyways. And well I’ve been doing well, I started on Saturday and I haven’t had a cigarette since then, all thanks to the Nicoderm patch. I went with the clear version of the patch for those curious. It’s made me a little moody/agitated by the withdrawal of nicotine, but it has very interesting side effects if you decide to sleep with them.

Sleeping with the patch on, gives me crazy whacked out dreams. I’m not going to list all of my crazy dreams but I’ll give you a little background on the one I don’t think I’ll forget for awhile.

It was the second night of the Nicotine patch treatment, and well I felt that I needed a little boost to make it through the day so, I put on an additional patch. Probably not the best idea, but I mean double the nicotine vs breaking down and smoking….well I made the call anyways. When I went to bed that night, I had one of the better horror movies play out in my head.

Short version, the book of Revelations was unfolding before my eyes. Except for tons of bodies being lifted into heaven they were being converted into the walking dead, bodies was rising from the dead to feast on the flesh of those few remaining survivors. I being among then, and not a zombie, btw. Not sure if that was a good thing or bad thing. Well at least I didn’t get bit/scratched/ect …but I was stuck in some weird chemical industrial complex with a few other survivors. Eventually the zombies waned/died/ect….and a new world was born of the remaining survivors whom I guess you could say caused it to end on a happy note.

Well anyways, let this be a warning about Sleeping with your Patch on.
